Bel Canto/Biography

has been a chamber musician for over 24 years, and a violin instructor since 1995.  She has studied under Joan Barrett, Josef Gingold, Lorand Fenyves, Shauna Rolston, and The St. Lawrence String Quartet, and has performed with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Calgary Civic Symphony, and the Calgary Fiddlers.  As a founding member of the JEB String Quartet, Karri won the CIBC National Music Festival, and an Alberta Achievement Award.  She holds a BMus Perf. (Hons) from the University of Toronto, and has toured to New Zealand, Australia, Norway, England and Scotland.  She performs with the Red Deer Symphony, and is an active freelance musician, and a proud mama to two wonderfully musical daughters.
